AP Humerus

IR size:  14×17 inches

Shielding: Lead shield around waist

Patient Position: This can be done erect or supine on the table whichever will be easier for the patient.  Place patients back against the table or bucky.

Part Position: Align humerus to long axis of the IR(you will probably need to use diagonal placement in order to fit both joints).  Extend the hand and forearm away from the body and rotate the arm so that the epicondyles are parallel with the IR

Central Ray: Center at the midpoint of humerus

SID: 40 inches

Collimation: Collimate to the sides of the arm

Respiration: Suspend respiration
