AP Erect Abdomen

IR size: 14×17 inches

Shielding: Gonadal shielding may be used on males

Patient Position: Patient should be standing with feet evenly spread apart with back against the bucky.  Make sure the patients arms are at their sides away from the body and center the patients midsagittal plane to the center of the bucky.

Part Position: Ensure no rotation of the pelvis and shoulders. 

Central Ray: Center to the midsagittal plane and have the top of your collimation field right at or just below the armpit area.

SID: 40 inches

Collimation: Collimate if possible but be sure not to cut off the diaphram

Respiration: Make exposure at the end of expiration
