AP Shoulder External Rotation
IR size: 10×12 inches
Shielding: Lead shield around waist
Patient Position: This can be done erect or supine on the table whichever will be easier for the patient. Place patients back against the table or bucky.
Part Position: Abduct arm slightly, then externally rotate the arm until the epicondyles of humerus are parallel to the IR.
Central Ray: Center 1 inch inferior to the coracoid process (the coracoid process is usually 3/4 of an inch below the lateral side of the clavicle.
SID: 40 inches
Collimation: Collimate on all four sides if possible
Respiration: Suspend respiration
