Lateral Fingers

IR size:  10×12 inches

Shielding: Lead shield around waist

Patient Position: Seat patient at end of table with elbow flexed 90 degrees

Part Position: Place patients hand in lateral position, have the patient make a fist and then straighten the affected digit.  You may need to use tape or a positioning sponge to keep it apart from the other fingers is patient is unable to hold position

Central Ray: Center at the PIP joint of affected finger

SID: 40 inches

Collimation: Collimate on all four sides to affected finger

Respiration: Patient does not need to hold their respiration for this projection
