Lateral Forearm

IR size:  14×17 inches

Shielding: Lead shield around waist

Patient Position: Seat patient at end of table and have them bend their elbow 90 degrees with the wrist and hand in the lateral position.  Ensure the arm, hand, and shoulder are all on the same plane

Part Position: align and center forearm on the IR to make sure you see both the wrist joint and the elbow joint

Central Ray: Center at the midforearm

SID: 40 inches

Collimation: Collimate to the sides of the arm and ensure you do not collimate either of the joints off of the x-ray. 

Respiration: Patient does not need to hold their respiration for this projection
