Scapula Y

IR size: 10×12 inches

Shielding: Lead shield around waist

Patient Position: This can be done erect or supine on the table whichever will be easier for the patient.

Part Position: Rotate patient into an anterior oblique, the average degree of obliquety is 40-60 degrees. Bring effected amr across the stomach. Then palpate the scapula to ensure lateral position

Central Ray: Center to the scapulohumeral joint which is usually 2-3 inches below the top of the shoulder.

SID: 40 inches

Collimation: Collimate on all four sides if possible

Respiration: Suspend respiration
